Let’s see if the case remains with her.

WTF is up with that makeup?! Are they appropriating from Native American or Māori culture?

Maga aesthetics are very “football moms on meth” so probably but most likely via sports I guess.

It says she was “assigned”. How do the judges get assigned? Is it random? Seniority? Round robin?

… and is she still connected to this case because she was ruling on it before or is this supposedly some sort of “coincidence” :unamused:

Someone who gets this excited about a political candidate isn’t qualified to be an impartial judge, or appropriate to preside over a case with that candidate as the defendant.

This is some bullshit.

It’s random, a computer thing. However, note that Trump appointed 174 out of 677 US District Judges, a little over 25%. That gives him pretty good odds on getting assigned to someone he appointed.

Naturally, that also means she should recuse herself, but she’s a conservative so don’t hold your breath waiting for her to do the right thing.

Surely that photo would be enough.

I hope Smith has already instructed his team to get ready to draw up the inevitable appeal.

They don’t know what the fuck they’re doing; they’re MAGA bozos.

One or more in the GOP may whisper in her ear if this article means anything. Let’s see if labyrinth-pressure has finally gotten to them.

(excerpt) Frum, a former speechwriter for President George W. Bush, writes in The Atlantic that many Republicans secretly want the former president completely out of the national picture but are too afraid to say so due to wrath from their voters. “The conservative world in the age of Trump has coiled itself into a labyrinth of lies: lies about Trump’s victimhood, lies about Trump’s popularity, lies about Trump’s election outcomes, lies about Trump’s mental acuity and physical strength,” he writes. “The architects of the labyrinth presumed that they could always, if necessary, find an exit—and that their keys could someday turn the exit’s locks. Instead, they have found themselves as lost and trapped in the labyrinth as the deceived people they lured into it.”

This is going to drag out forever, isn’t it?
The effect this potentially compromised material will be enormous. All the agencies represented will have to assume the worst and attempt unthinkable damage control, if that’s even entirely possible. Consider the absolute worst scenario where trump evades the law and is elected. What agency is going to cooperate with his admin beyond the absolute minimum required by law while finding ways to do even less.

According to one of the comments, this is not Aileen Cannon but is instead a Getty image.

A serious infraction in other places.

Hm, let’s see if she wears it in court.

I don’t usually go in the ‘front door’ of this forum, so I didn’t see this until now:

Clearly that is not the same person, though the way the post was phrased makes it seem that way, unfortunately.

@frauenfelder

Might wanna edit it a bit for clarity, yeah?

Someone else calling it out:

Agreed. I’m sure it’s an honest error but it’s a pretty darn big one given that it’s the entire premise of the BB story.

Did you not notice the disclaimer below the tweet? Do you feel that it is unimportant to address the challenge to the assertion that the photo is of the judge?
