What a relaxing video.

I had to look up the gorgeous birds visible at 0:56 and 1:40 (and also in his painting at 1:34). They are European goldfinches (Carduelis carduelis) and they put American goldfinches to shame.

Almost a ‘mindfulness moment’.
(UK watchers of “[Season]watch” will relate to that.)

The music track was especially wonderful.

How about his ukulele playing? I recently started learning to play the ukulele and have been pleasantly surprised to find that I can, contradicting a lifetime of belief that I’d never be able to play any instrument. So many experienced players have been willing to share techniques and just help me that I feel there’s a general, unspoken attitude of “We’re having fun and you can join us!”

That, to me, is part of what makes this video so soothing. Showing us his painting technique is also a way of saying, “If this looks like something you might enjoy please try it yourself.”

The melodica is nice too.
