I thought they were supposed to be sent to the international court but I guess this will have to do.
You just don’t get it: Nielsen is one of the good ones whose moral compass was so strong she just couldn’t aid and abet Trump and his coterie any longer. Any longer than the two years she already did, anyway.
Sure, she theoretically could have done something other than carry his water and rationalize all the monstrous decisions she implemented, but she maybe feels kind of bad about some stuff now you guys, so isn’t that what’s important? No, she’s not going to actually do anything to remedy the things she’s done and she’ll still insist she was morally and legally correct the whole time, but she’s still so, so brave.
When she’s at the meeting with Flake, Ryan, Graham, Romney, and the rest, they’ll all congratulate each other on how terribly moral and brave they all are while they compare speaking engagement fees.
I want to put a thought out there: This woman was the most hideously, knowingly and intentionally cruel members of a knowingly, intentionally cruel administration. And she was fired because she was seen as not cruel and heartless enough by the asshole in chief. I will offer assurances that his other toadies will learn from her fail and redouble their efforts to be as cruel and heartless as possible. The only way this is limited as all is to see her suffering consequences for her actions. Of course, there is also the fact that most of the others are male, and so will not see her consequences as applicable to them. This timeline sucks on so many levels.
as bad as she was in the role… Trump wants to replace her with someone even more hardline… get ready for worse
You come dangerously close to violating Poe’s Law.
“I like the Walrus best,” said Alice, “because you see he was a little sorry for the poor oysters.”
“He ate more than the Carpenter, though,” said Tweedledee. “You see he held his handkerchief in front, so that the Carpenter couldn’t count how many he took: contrariwise.”
“That was mean!” Alice said indignantly. “Then I like the Carpenter best—if he didn’t eat so many as the Walrus.”
“But he ate as many as he could get,” said Tweedledum.
This was a puzzler. After a pause, Alice began, “Well! They were both very unpleasant characters—”
Let’s be real. If Trump and his pathetic cohorts have their way Fox news will become a 24/7 snuff porn channel.
People who commit crimes against humanity should be shunned and excluded from polite society.
What about getting them before a court for their crimes?
In the eyes of the US public it’s incredibly easy to avoid consequences - just give candy to Michelle and your war based on lies that later led to a terrorist kill fest in the whole region is forgotten in no time.
Kirstjen Nielsen
She’ll have plenty of time for her all nazi, all TGOP bad girl band, and there soon to be hit single, “You’re the razor wire around my heart”, and the flip side “Barrel bomb me”.
Cruelty is seen as a proof of loyalty.
Someone feeling insecure about the loyalty of his underlings is going to demand cruelty for its own sake, just for reassurance, not strategy.
The grosser the bug, the more relief it gives to the boss who can order you to eat it.
This boycott will be easy.
I’m not buying any Hansel & Gretel™ Brand Kid Pies right now; so why would I start?
Yes. The new acting DHS head is a member of the regime’s most loyal law enforcement agency, responsible for implementing these horrible policies. There’s a good chance the appointment will be made permanent.
With the right backing of course:
“The Washington Post reported Friday that the president recently told Miller he was in charge of all immigration and border affairs.”

When a truly awful person looks that good, you have to wonder if she has a painting in the attic…
Really? Has she gone directly to the FBI to go states witness to attrocities? Has she reported what she’s seen to the UN? Has she gone whistle blower with the documents she took away?
No - so far it looks like she is pivoting towards some cushy appointment.
I expect CNN to hire her. Like love hiring people from the Trump administration.
I really have to wonder what dinner at the Conway house is like. Do they speak to each other at all?
