A Melbourne teenager was caught about a decade back doing the same thing with trams. He was told it wouldn’t count against him if he applied to be a tram driver in the future.

There’s an even more recent story about another Melbourne teen (aged 16, maybe) who was driving a modded truck and responding lights and sirens to emergencies across many suburbs. This was about a year ago.
