Yeah but will the exposure last? What do we do to get things set up better? (It’s gotta be more than voting for AOC since like, I can’t.)

President Trump has railed for years against what he sees as mismanagement of the agency,

No.

He just knows that hate for government agencies is an applause line for his Nazi fan base.

which he argues has been exploited by sites such as Amazon

No.

He just hates Jeff Bezos for being richer, smarter, and better looking (only by default) than him.

Two errors of fact in the first sentence! Not looking good for the article.

Yeah. Weak take by the post. I just wanted to note the continued assault on the postal service.

Democracy dies in darkness.

Meanwhile, over at the NYT…

NYT seems to have it down to an art.

Those are the petty reasons for Trump, and while I don’t discount petty ever with him, mail in voting being handled by an agency that will deliver ballots even if postage isn’t payed has to be a large driver.

Both articles were fairly informative. I think we’d all be better off if people retained their subscriptions to the NYT and WaPo and canceled their Twitter accounts.

We do whatever we can wherever we can I guess? I don’t think there’s any particular specific path that can be prescribed broadly since we’re all in our own unique positions and communities, certainly the path to improving things does not go only through the electoral process or just national politics, (but that’s a critical component), helping make sure Biden gets elected is pretty crucial I think. While he might not be any of our ideal candidates - he wouldn’t have abandoned the Kurds the way that Trump did, or threaten to skew SCOTUS right for decades, or try to destroy the post office and EPA. My personal take is that the amplification factor that the web has provided has given both left and right populism more sway than it has had in many decades in the U.S. - it’s going to continue to be chaotic/turbulent/unpredictable, (especially and somewhat in spite of the perspective/expectations of establishment centrists), we all have a part in determining which way that swing arcs and more chaotic systems are more sensitive to even small influences. The biggest concern to my mind is preventing the end-game detailed in this scenario. (effectively a total reversal of democracy).

And then there’s this fuckery:

That seems a bit sub-optimal.

So someone who fled Cuba in the Mariel boatlift is not permitted to point out that the current food shortages are reminding them of what they remember from their life in Cuba? Good thing they have some Twitter rando to set them right about Cuba.
