I’m tired of having to constantly read between the lines to get the news, or guess at the facts based on woefully inadequate coverage, to then often be proven correct by stories carefully released after they might have done the most good.

Scoop Of A Lifetime
Wow if only you’d been a reporter at a prominent American news outlet so you could have informed the public that the White House was willing to let half the country because they though it would be good politics.
And Maggie isn’t even saying she missed it, just that it wasn’t worth being in the paper of record.
Sure they reported on the diversion of scare resources to favored states and governors. Also bad! But that’s a bit different than the Trump administration wanting people in blue states to die so that they could blame Dem governors for the deaths!
Not infrequently reporters, because it’s extremely important that they be seen as Knowing Things, basically say, “oh, yes, we knew all that.” Cool. Why didn’t you tell us?
I’ve been through enough important major events to know that I shouldn’t expect them to get off their bullshit even when [looks around at all this] but I keep being surprised.

The Dumbest Evil Fucks In The Universe
The House was always filled with some of the lesser lights of the country, but I don’t think it’s false nostalgia to think that there weren’t quite so many who were quite this dumb not so long ago. The evil isn’t new of course.
Stupid.
Rep. Raúl Grijalva has tested positive for COVID-19 after a week in Washington, D.C., that included a hearing with Rep. Louie Gohmert, who also tested positive in recent days.
Raul Grijalva is my rep. I cannot express how angry I am.
Update:
I expect neither can he.
[Gohmert:] “It is what was decided as the best course of action between my doctor and me - not by government bureaucrats.”
now, Congressman Covid, in that same breath, tell us your stance on a woman’s right to her own reproductive choices made between her and her doctor?
Well, that’s different, you see, as women aren’t capable of making those decisions… /s
At this point, who knows what will get McConnell to actually get anything done. Remember when the GOP-controlled Congress promised to create a new healthcare plan? They spent years (and lots of taxpayer money), but delivered nothing. Now they’re talking about taking a few more weeks to work on another relief bill, when the House bill was passed in mid-May.
They are stalling - while letting people die, lose their homes, or deal with financial hardship. That should be front and center in every campaign ad for the folks running to replace every GOP senator seeking reelection in November.
I’m not a doctor, but I don’t think to “treat the diagnosis” is the best course of action. Personally, I’d go with “treat my illness”.
I’m not a psychologist either, but for me his choice of words seems to indicate that this dumbass still refuses to acknowledge that he has contracted a dangerous disease that has a good chance to kill or permanently damage him. Oh well, go covid!
Only the good die young. How old is he again?
Just reminded of this post: everything I’ve read in the past month makes it seem like Larry Summers has been thoroughly exorcised from the Biden campaign.
[Good! Grumpy cat.]
Latest on Covid relief is that Mitch has realized he has to keep his senators out of it because they’re even stupider assholes than he is, so a deal will be between the WH and House Dems.
If there’s a deal!!!
I hope this gets shared as widely as possible, so more people will see this comic than if it wasn’t removed.
Obviously it was removed because it criticizes priviledged people way too well.
I have the suspicion that this is an example of ‘woke’ white people thinking they’re the good guys for championing the cause without bothering to do ANY research…like, maybe if one bothered to know who the cartoonist was, they would know they were not in a position to make claims of racism.
i think you’re probably giving people way too much credit.
the jezebel article quotes one of the comments sent to one of the newspapers:
I know there’s controversy about wearing masks, but this is a state requirement not a recommendation! So this is ridiculous.
when anti-masking sentiment pokes through their comment, the rest of it
with the much more egregious attitude of the white woman minimizing the “I can’t breathe” statement
means they aren’t worried about a Black person’s experience, they are worried about criticizing white people.
it’s a really funny, pointed, comic. white americans are just incredibly fragile about their privilege.
That is true…
I agree. I think we’re saying the same thing, really. The person/people who complained about the cartoon probably think of themselves as ‘woke’, but in fact they’re still subconsciously sympathizing with the white character.
