On belay!

Yup, that’s my role, though not in this photo. I belayed our friend/neighbor/kitten foster while he lead climbed to set the ropes for Kiddo. The laws of physics are not in my favor for climbing, but I’m awesome on belay!

We toured the LeMAY America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, Washington, located right next to the Tacoma Dome, and took a metric shit load of photos. ^____^

After weeks of packing, moving house, unpacking, discovering what can go wrong with a 90 year-old house etc I finally thought I’d get a ride in.

That’s ok, plenty more places to…

Ok, what about…

But at least I got 30km of urban road riding in. Not photogenic, but at this time of the year there’s always a risk the paths will be under water (most of the trails are alongside rivers or in floodplains) and it is magpie swooping season, so staying on road until November’s not such a bad idea.

That post was worth at least three of these

Glad you got your ride in eventually!

Not my pic, but after heavy rains last week the river is roaring:

I spent some time exploring rivers last week. Found some pretty neat little spots in the mountains.

Maybe a green heron?

Nope, too light and tall. Hmm. Probably an immature great blue heron.

Possibly a female (thus, not so strongly colored) Black-necked Stilt?

The beak and legs are wrong, though.

Or a Stilt Sandpiper…

In the middle of rural southeast Georgia (Milford, Elmodel), on my way to Florida. Cotton for miles. Piles of cotton on the side of the road. Trails of cotton along the roadside.

We packed the cats up again in the RV and headed for some Michigan color.

I put the drone up and when I got high enough, bam, hot air balloons. What a wonderful surprise.

Then when I was bringing the drone back I had to fly low to come back under some trees. Something you don’t want to hear bringing your expensive drone over water.

Landing, wait, what? I brought the throttle up as it was landing on the water. It hit the water but I flew it out.

The sensors sometimes get confused over water and think it’s closer than to the ground than it is.

I thought for sure I’d be replacing it, nope, dried it out and it appears fine.
