The kid made a fanciful bed for pretend play and this is what I discovered on my way to my own bed
Mr. Feral has been getting in my wife’s lap for a while, this is the first time he climbed up on me.
This is my reward for spending a grand last week to get him well.
I’m cat-sitting an orange kitty this month and thought of you and your creatures!
Here he is looking out at the bird feeder.
I’ve never had an orange kitty before, and he’s very different, temperamentally, from my past kitties! I wonder if it’s something inherent, or just a one off.
In my experience, marmalades are exuberant, silly, and affectionate. This can be expressed in various ways. The floof monster above is very affectionate, playful, and patiently gentle. The other orange, is feisty, affectionate, and super playful. Both are super silly.
And for me they are all named “Jorts” now
Atlanta’s Jackson-Hartsfield used to have a beagle sniffer dog for agricultural products at the international baggage claim area. Non-threatening, a little goofy even. I think it belonged to the USDA, not TSA or DEA, and the handler was surprisingly tolerant of kids who just had to pet the doggie.
In our neck of the woods the first sign of spring is not the robin, it’s the muskrats.
A lot of people hate them especially boaters but they are adorable.
Unfortunately we also know it’s spring because there are usually several dead on the side of the road everyday because a 50+ mph highway runs through a very large marsh.
I’ve been smearing peanut butter on a couple dogwood trees for the birds in my front yard for a while now, and I’ve marveled at how fast it disappears. Well, mystery solved:
Opossums like peanut butter too.
Thank you, Peanut Butter Purveyor!
