You should differentiate the ass-firsters:
Back into the spot by stopping, reversing and backing directly into the spot
Back into the spot by stopping, reversing, being unhappy with the angle, going forward again, backing, still not quite there, going forward again, backing into almost exactly the same wrong angle as the first time, driving forward again, and then reversing into the spot.
