I’m all for pointing out the shortcomings of cops, but they’re not trained animal control. A professional should’ve been called to handle this situation, with better training and more appropriate equipment. That’s what it means when people say “defund the police”; it’s to prevent pointless things like this happening. Cops shouldn’t be asked to do this kind of work.
