Right-wing websites are weighing the pros and cons of letting people die from coronavirus to help the economy

It funny how the people who are so clever about calculating fractal gerrymandering can’t seem to (publicly) add up the butcher’s bill for their solution.

That’s literally the excuse a lot of them have been claiming. They say that public education and the mainstream media brainwash women by the time they’re in the later teens to be angry feminists, so it’s necessary to “groom” younger women before they get brainwashed to hate “traditional Western Christian values.”

You’re preaching to the choir, rev.

Welp, call me a centrist, but, that middle square, well…

If I gave you $10 million to kill your spouse/sibling/child, would you do it? How much are they worth to you? EDIT: < /sarcasm aimed at the guy monetizing lives> Fuck this timeline.

This is real life, not intellectual wanking.

Yeah, please and thanks. Because there are people on major cable shows actually saying we should let people die. Probably not a great time to NOT be hedging your bets on people realizing it’s sarcasm…

I like this a whole lot more with the clear sarcasm pointer.

Fuck this Timeline indeed.

Clearly the wrong people are dying right now.

It’s always the wrong people that die.

Thanks, I hate it.

On the other hand, thanks I needed that to reflect on my own behaviors.

On the gripping hand, this would be all a lot less stressful if we had compliant leadership. ( That wasn’t a member of a death cult. )

I’m bothered by the latent assumption lurking within the claim that “more people will die from a crashed economy than from the pandemic”…

…if the structure of an economy is such that people literally die en masse when it is perturbed, then…

  1. what ends does that economy truly serve?
  2. why does such an economy deserve to be revived at all?

Workers don’t like very much to die only to drive up the dividends. It’s happening now in Italy.

Death by dry land drowning is not a cure for anything.

Translation:

Does this hereditary disease cost the community for life?

Nearly every aspect of my job can be done from anywhere in the world, and any argument as to the benefits of an office culture, coordination, cooperation, etc., can be easily countered by the last week working from home. The only thing I haven’t been able to do is shake hands with the people I talk to at meetings. Oh no! Now, my occupation isn’t necessarily representative, but neither is it uncommon enough to be a complete outlier.

Loud speculation about ending other people’s lives is a fucking menace. If you are too sheltered to know what death is like don’t project that ignorance onto others. None of these assholes is important enough to have an opinion on whether I live or die. I’ll respect one of these pieces of shit if and when they sacrifice their own life for the good of others without saying anything about it to anyone. Until even one of them has the integrity to do that I have nothing but utter contempt for them and their murderous blathering.
