Rob Ford sued for jailhouse beating of his ex-brother-in-law

Most likely, yes.

Oh the Muddy streets in York the ā€˜corner news callerā€™sā€™ will be crying.

My point is: there are non-commercial and community stations that play far superior music, sans ads (or at least, without obnoxious screamy ads).

Iā€™m from Australia and IMO the best two stations we have here (amongst many) are:

Government-funded JJJ (no ads, good taste in music, international guests):

Community-funded FBI (sponsorā€™s ads, but a heavy focus on local and emerging artists):

You can stream both from their websites internationally. If youā€™re gonna check it out thoroughly itā€™s worth listening to the weekly ā€œgenreā€ shows that they have for the latest in the particular genre you like. Me? I like:

2014 (new music show) http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/kingsmill/

HipHop show http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/hiphop/

Short.Fast.Loud (punk and hardcore) http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/shortfastloud/

Soundlab (electronic/experimental) http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/soundlab/

Sunday Night Safran (news and interesting peopleā€¦ hosted by a jewish comedian/commentator & a catholic priest) http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/safran/

Between those stations and the tiny computer in my pocket that can torrent anything at a moments notice, I donā€™t see the need for commercial radio. Itā€™s there, but it sucks.

Election or criminal charge. Both a boot from the Honourable Magisterial Office.

Good point regarding young Master Beiber.

From the sublime to the ridiculous?

I think weā€™re supposed to consider what Ford was like at that age, since thatā€™s the only frame of reference he can comprehend. In which case, sure, Bieber has his head on relatively straight. So does pretty much anyone else, anywhere, at any age.

Charming response and good list of stations (Iā€™ll be keeping these for later), but not all of us have a computer or internet access to listen to them (and not all of us live Down Under); thatā€™s why I said what I said before (about people in the USA in particular) doing this, and using the power of their elected representatives to do so, else-wise, what do they pay taxes for and why are the representatives elected?

And it has to be done; events like [Disco Demolition Night][1][1]: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disco_Demolition_Night happening (but with pop instead of disco) are racist, homophobic, and ageist things that would only provoke anger and cause people to support pop more. Challenging media ownership of radio, trust-busting, and education about different kinds of music will make things better and give us less pop music (be warned though, there are no guarantees of success.)

Heā€™s gone from Laughable Bumblefuck to Dangerous Drug Addict

While I in no way think Justin Bieberā€™s behaviour is in any way excusable, I shudder to think what I would have been doing at 19 if I was worth upwards of $150 million and was a world famous pop star. The shit I did at 19 when I was a middle class computer science student in university was bad enough. I hope that some day he manages to lose the hubris, and do something worthwhile with his life (aside from the endless joy that he already brings to countless fans around the world)

As for Rob Ford allegedly arranging to have his estranged brother in law beaten to a pulp in prison? This is not a thing that would surprise me. It seems like something that would be quite hard to prove, though.
