Clearly the cop is a calm, rational person who is well suited to his level of authority and is definitely trustworthy enough to be imbued with the power to make life and death decisions in moments of extreme stress and crisis.

Well, you know, the EMT looks to be a woman of colour, and the cop is a white man; I’m sure that he is fully justified in his actions.

Also my immediate take. “She dared to defy my authority!”

Imagine how violent the prick would have got if someone had accidentally dinged his private vehicle instead of the taxpayer-funded conveyance he irresponsibly parked in the ambulance bay.

Don’t you know that a cop can never irresponsibly park a cop car? Just like cops can never irresponsibly discharge cop guns.

Back the blue? All the blue, all the time?

Apparently blue lives matter more than an actual person on a stretcher, at the hospital.

Take a chill pill govenor!

Fixed.

What investigation? It would take my employer less than 5 minutes to have a person terminated for assault and arrested.

The no-knock warrant being served on your house at 3am, starting with the front door being kicked in and your dog being shot, is here to inform you that they are not.

To the extent that cops’ cars – like their beloved paramilitary gear – are aspects of their identity, an innocent ding amounts to a serious personal attack.

Then there’s the NYC mounted cops. Not long before I moved out here, friends and I attended a Yes concert at Madison Square Garden. Outside were stationed several mounted cops although --especially at that time – prog concerts were not exactly known for rambunctious crowds. We saw one concert goer ahead of us step out of the queue to pet one of the horses on the rump. The horse reacted with a fidget, not unlike how it would react if an annoying fly or bird landed there. That got the cop’s attention. He swung his horse around and began bashing the guy with his truncheon. That’s when all hell broke loose. A couple of dozen people broke from the line and ran over to the guy being hit. That prompted the other mounted cops to join in the abuse and use their horses as battering rams against the approaching crowd. People were being shoved by these big 2000 lb. horses and being squeezed up against parked cars. We saw a couple of guys get bowled over a car’s hood, ending up in traffic. A shitstorm, all because someone touched a cop’s horse.

That was my thought, yes.

I really hope he is convicted of assault (but not expecting it)

It’s so depressing how sure I was after reading the headline that the story would be about a white male cop attacking a bipoc. This is everyday in america and it’s fucking infuriating

I ponder police use of animals and how I’d react. This makes me wonder how I could manhandle a horse to convince it to demount its rider so that he or she is now on a level playing field. I also wonder what’s the best way to handle a cop k9 if it’s sic’ed on me. For the latter, I’d like to fight it, but I’ve never fought a vicious dog before, so I’m not sure how I’d handle it IRL.
