The pathetic thing is, he probably THINKS he was saying something that connected him with the people. In his head his message was probably, “Look, if a tree grazing a small portion of this governmnet provided opulent house with no real risk to anyone inside is the worst that I had to deal with, then I count myself lucky. Real Floridians are dealing with far worse consequences, so let’s not focus on what is a non-problem for me and focus on getting help to those who need it.”
But he’s not capable of actually conveying that message in any sort of human, empathetic way.

So many ways he could have said something like “Fortunately, it turns out no damage was done” but no, he had to prattle on like he did.
He’s like some guy bragging about himself at a bar and you’re looking around to find yourself a new seat away from his noise.

I’m eagerly looking to see how the end of this storm goes for him, politically. Biden made aid available early, shortly after DeSantis declared an emergency, and without DeSantis asking for it. He needs the aid. Does he…
- Accept the aid and have GOP label him as weak (see Christy’s Obama hug)
- Deny the aid and have the one of the most GOP heavy areas turn on him like patrons at a Golden Corral when the chocolate fountain turns on.
