Russia invades Ukraine

Yeah, I didn’t link to it deliberately.

I guess I might have now that I know the driver is okay.

Indeed.

Having driven tanks im pretty certain the driver couldnt have seen the car while driving buttoned up. And driving over a car is a good way to throw a track leaving you incapacitated, so always a stupid thing to do.

This was completely avoidable though by staying in ones own country instead of invading peaceful neighbors.

I don’t know; but that looked specifically targeted. Unless he was planning to drive off the highway at speed and somehow it timed just right to go across multiple lanes of traffic and run over the vehicle.

I dont know either. But its hard enough to squeeze a tank through a gate never mind deliberately hitting a moving target that you can barely see.

My first thought was that the armored vehicle was trying to straighten out after coming out of a skid. I’ve slid a tank on an icy road before.

Cant ever rule out people being pricks though.

Yeah, this was my first thought, too. “If he did that on purpose, he’s a moron on top of being barbaric.” If he’s in a combat zone, and if he’s lucky enough to keep his tracks, he’s hung for at least a few seconds, a nice fat target."

Truer words have never been spoken.

First, Jesse obviously meant sanctions, not war.

Second, if the world doesn’t stand up to Putin now, then when? It’s obvious he has eyes on more than just Ukraine.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of Russian soldiers are going into this constantly drunk. It’s an old tradition in that army.

Not only that. China is also gauging international reaction to the invasion of Ukraine for the invasion of Taiwan. A weak reaction means they don’t have much to fear.

That is not the worst thing in the world.

Not likely. Taiwan has stronger military ties to its neighbors (including the US), is worthless to China if pounded into rubble and needs far less resources to fend off an invasion, being an island. The million man swim is too potentially dangerous to China.

The status quo and diplomatic/economic warfare against Taiwan is far less costly and yields better results for them.

Indeed. For comparison, whenever China’s rhetoric towards Taiwan being a part of China ramps up too much, we park some warships next to it, and they back down.

That’s a lot more than we’re doing here with Ukraine.

Plus both Korea and Japan consider an invasion of Taiwan to be direct threats to them and have fleets of their own.
