“ Ukraine has been asking for Javelin anti-tank weapons and Stinger missiles to shoot down aircraft.”
“The United States drew from U.S. weapons stocks to supply Ukraine in the fall of 2021 and then again in December. Over the past year the United States has committed more than $1 billion in security assistance to Ukraine, Blinken said.“
I’m sitting here, a little gobsmacked, but you appear to be right. It looks like it was all just drills for the bulk of the Russian forces, until they were told to turn south, at which point the commanders seriously thought they would be fueled up at the side of the road by grateful Ukrainians.
How long until Russian assets overseas are outright seized as part of the reparation payments to Ukraine?
I’m not sure how some people expected us to believe that the sanctions would have no effect on swaying these greedpig oligarchs. Yes, they’re Putin’s pets but if the international community won’t let them enjoy their ill-gotten gains outside Russia where the real goodies are what’s the point of it all?
There’s similar slat guards for RPG attacks. As the missile is forced through the slats the warhead is squeezed, destroying the fuse and preventing detonation. I dont know how well that would work with Javelin though.
