Maybe. Or they were doing war games before this, could be red/blue teams. That is some of the speculation with the Z seen on vehicles.
So I just saw a tweet about a convoy heading to Kyiv. And it supposedly includes Chechen fighters who are more motivated/experienced than Russian conscripts. But why would Chechens be eager to fight Ukrainians? I am sure there is some history I don’t know.
I remember seeing some blue checked person, who I as not familiar with, but seemed to be some lady from Pakistan who had ties to Russian media, and she was posting what I now think was Chechen solders shouting Allah ackbar, and her tweets included strong language. I assumed it was just pro Russian rhetoric, but I confess I don’t understand where it all fits in and now have the knowledge Chechen soldiers are in Ukraine.
“Well, one use is for a righteous battle against oppression; the other is a infantile feet stomping against an inconvenience.”
Aw! I am sure there is some reason that I would not like Dee Snider that I have forgotten about at the moment, but that is good. I can see why he and John Denver were on the same side.
It’s already starting. I have seen lots of reports about Russian mothers saying their sons were sent to war without warning, and that they have heard nothing and are worried for them. The lack of communication was what made me think the soldiers did not have smart phones!
Few things are as moving as a mother looking for her children. If they start demonstrations against the war, when their boys come back home in plástic bags, the state media Will have hard time tô create a counternarrative.
Both. The original Kadyrovtsy were separatists until their leader Akhmad Kadyrov took them over to the Russian side and they began fighting their former comrades.
Ah! Thank you! I will read through that in full, but just a cursory look at it made me realize why I have had a hard time following the situation there over the decades!
It’s been reported that it’s for identification. Like the letter marks on the vehicles. Ukrainian and Russian military equipment is really similar, so the Russians are apparently marking things in various ways.
Apparently conscription and brutally abusive command structure.
So it’s more that the officers and Chechen leaders are gung ho, and the soldiers are known for doing practically anything to prevail. Cause it don’t go well for them at home otherwise.
Also have a major reputation for committing war crimes.
