Salon discourages good samaritans from returning lost pets to their owner

Just from personal experience, I stopped reading Salon quite some time ago.

Me too. More and more, it felt like the writers were competing to see who could ‘clickbait’ their stories most effectively.

I think the same thing about small children wandering around without their parents. If they are crying, well… they likely just cut some onions…

We found a cat in our yard a few months ago, and it’s hard to tell with cats because some people will let them wander. But this guy had no collar, was pristinely fluffy even though it had been raining, and seemed really happy to be let inside.

The next day we took him to every house within 3 blocks to see where he belonged with no luck. Finally took him to the vet where they read his chip and found out he lived almost 2 miles away. Apparently he was never let outside, so how he made it to our house across two busy streets is beyond us.
