Bearing in mind that former DA Terence Hallinan essentially decriminalized pot in SF when he took office in 1996. I’m not sure what happened with Kamala Harris and the Police Union regained the office.

Seriously, all states that have legalized should expunge/pardon/vacate any weed-related convictions that are strictly over grass. Anything w/ violence or other criminal acts would not be “forgiven”, so to speak.

How does this expunging of felony marijuana convictions interact with the 3-strikes sentencing rules? If Bob is in prison for life due to smoking weed and two other non-violent felonies, can he petition for his sentence to be reduced based on no longer being 3-strikes?
