Yup, I remember this one well. And by the way, a neighbor and friend of mine is a cop. She used to talk about all the drivers that immediately start yelling, mouthing off, etc. when she pulled them over. She never said anything about physically removing the driver from the car and putting her knee in their back and arresting them.
Mod note: stay on topic
My momma always told me: Donât ask questions you donât want the answers to.
Yeah right âŚ
I did not say that this one followed his training, simply that Sandra is NOT expected to know how to de-escalate a traffic stop whereas the cop IS expected to know how to de-escalate a traffic stop.
He did the opposite. Thatâs not her fault.
Actually, no. It was an example given in response to the nasty comments directed at a poster who stated that Bland would have fared better without the attitude. The testy responses didnât dispute this claim; the âargumentâ was that people should be able to have an attitude with the police. I was pointing out the irrelevance of that argument.
Women should be able to walk wherever they want whenever they want. People should be able to leave their homes unlocked when they go on vacation. Young children should be able to go to a playground, take candy from strangers and help them look for lost puppies. To dispute a true statement about how things are by pounding your fist and arguing that it shouldnât be that way is at best intellectually lazy and at worst dumb.
I just saw that my initial response to you had been censored. My response had a fair amount of sarcasm and ridicule, but it was directed at ideas, not people. Some of the ideas here are very worthy of ridicule.
The unfortunate consequence of this censorship, absolutism and intolerance of even discussion is that it drives people away from a cause. It makes the tent a lot smaller. It is a kind of purity test thatâs a turn off to a lot of people, and leads to the same kind of groupthink that brings Republicans to want to de-fund climate research rather than have a talk about it.
The latter is looking more and more plausible, which by no means gets the state off the hook. They clearly acted poorly every step of the way and directly contributed to her death, though whether they actively murdered her is still a question.
just FUD FUD FUD. Some of the churches burned down accidentally, too, bro.
other than the being pulled over for a bullshit reason.
Man, you canât say âtake the first punch and then we pretend itâs a level fieldâ.
You sure used a lot of other words about other things to achieve that end.
Who had he stopped previously?
And what does his intent âwanted to abuse authorityâ have to do with ANYTHING since clearly he did.
oh, but he didnât want to? So⌠she made him do it? Or maybe it was his superiors who made him? I think your ability to tell that he didnât want to act âon malice and wanted to abuseâ authority to be positively magical.
What eles do you "just know? about what other people think? And how is it different from psychological projection, exactly?
Ohhh, reeeeeeally? So now i suppose I see where she failed.
Thank you so much for clarifying that we have to be trained to deal with LEO.
no no, that viewpoint blamed her too. You donât see that?
