I also saw a “keep socialist medicine out of my Medicare!” variant of that sign, but I’m reminded of Trump supporters who hated, hated “Obamacare,” but as soon as Trump was elected, they couldn’t stop gushing about their new “Trumpcare.” Of course, absolutely nothing had changed…
The more telling map factors in what states contribute in tax dollars. IIRC, only 3 states contribute more than they get back: New York, New Jersey, and Connetticut.
ETA: from 2019, it’s 10 states.

Also: My colour-blind son would like a word with the person who picked a red-to-green colour scale. In case anyone is wondering what a good alternative is: different shades of the same colour work great for most colour-blind people.
ETA: about one-in-ten men are colour-blind to some degree. The condition is much rarer in women. I used to think it was rare overall, but nope, it’s pretty common.
For the sake of the people of Arkansas, I hope that they get that federal money.
And for her hypocrisy, I hope that Sanders gets voted out of office, which come to think of it, would also be for the sake of the people of Arkansas.
YEEEE-HAWG!!
I’ll never forget that quote. So much wilful blindness packed into one short reply.
It’s like the parable of the man who rejects every attempt to rescue him during a flood, saying that God will save him.
“Lord, I prayed so hard. Why didn’t you save me?”
“I sent you a boat, I sent you a helicopter, what more did you expect?”
Except in this case, he took the boat and helicopter rides, and is now saying “Nobody helped me. You need to learn how to swim too.”
Yup, feels about right. HI, VA, AK as the bottom 3. Would not have ever thought to see ol’ VA in amongst the newbies. Ah, well.
I have caught all the boots I need. Other people can make THEIR OWN bootstraps.
Well what did you expect? She’s just following the lessons of that famous socialist Mitch McConnell.
I just saw someone being retweeted on Twitter for expressing a similar sentiment… (unironically).
You’re not kidding. Guess which two military bases have their own school system? There are only two and they are within just one state.
Is “school systems” different from “schools” in the context you are using it?
