Second Life's Trump army lays siege to Bernie Sanders's virtual HQ with swastika cannons

For real though, I’m voting for the Boy Mayor and Tostinos! for the next Second Life election.

Can you show me a picture of this tattoo, or do you find it more important to be coarse and insulting?

The article linked earlier showed no “gothic” 88 on my device.

Well, he claimed to support a program of less intervention in foreign government, and less nation building. Also, lower taxes, and reduced dependence on foreign oil. Obviously, the first issue did not work out as expected, which I discovered personally while spending most of 2003 and 2004 in Kuwait and Iraq. I had already experienced Somalia up close and in color during what was supposed to be a humanitarian mission, and I have become pretty skeptical about the whole concept of helpful or destructive intervention. I cannot say if it would have been better or worse under Gore. Probably just different.

This one?

That specific font proves that – whether or not she is also a fan of Dale Earnhardt – it’s not a Dale Earnhardt fan tattoo.

But lots of white supremacist follow neo-pagan religions and draw on celtic and nordic mythologies and symbolism. Of course, not all neo-pagans are racist, many far from it. But there is a definable subset of neo-pagans who are most certainly white supremacist. They view the imposition of Christanity on their “ancestors” as a Jewish conspiracy and buy into the “hierarchy of races” promoted by neo-nazis. They’ve appropriated the celtic cross and other things as part of their belief system.

And plenty of people who are white supremacists deny they are such, but claim to believe that they are “separatist”… of course, they want to seperate blacks from the US by sending them back to Africa and make this a “white man’s country.”

Thank you, sir. @anon67050589 and @Wanderfound are correct, that font together with the 88 is a Nazi tell. The same number in “my puma oblique” is a NASCAR thing, the same font used without racist codes is a death metal band and/or goth thing, but together it’s “Heil Hitler”.

Which again supports my earlier thesis that the second life Swastika artillery are not actually interested in whether Trump gets elected or not… but I can’t really care any more.

BoingBoing sure does love to advertise for Trump. Of course so does every other media outlet and blog in the country… which is why he’ll most likely be our nexr President.

Someday, somewhere, someone with a bully pulpit is going to understand the categorical imperative. Today is not that day.

The majority of white supremacist organizations are thoroughly and overtly Christian. The symbol most often associated with racialist violence and hatred is the crucifix.

The majority of “pagan” organizations are profoundly not racist or sexist. This includes Norse derived paganisms like The Hall of the True Gods, whose Gothi and founder I counted as a friend before his untimely death in the 1980s.

Most racist pseudo-Norse “faiths” grew from prison gangs that wanted the legal advantages of pretended religion with having to swear allegiance to a Jewish carpenter.

I’m sure there are some Celtic and Hibernian societies that tolerate bigoted members who keep their hate to themselves, but such organizations exist to celebrate the art and heritage of the western Celtic peoples and are not racist. I know a black woman who is a proud member of one such organization and she is valued and loved by the other members.

I have a knotwork celtic cross decal on my car, my son wears a Thor’s hammer, and my father in law is a Dale Earnhardt fan… I know what I’m talking about.

I didn’t say that they are… there is a subset of neo-pagan white supremacists, however, some of whom are quite vocal about it (Vox Day, Varg Vikernes, etc). If you read what I wrote, you’d see that I also said that of course the vast majority of neo-pagans aren’t racist or sexist. I know that as I’ve known plenty of neo-pagans and agree with you that most of them find such beliefs deeply offensive and objectionable. I didn’t argue that they are the majority of neo-pagans by any stretch of the imagination nor did I imply it. That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist or we shouldn’t acknowledge they exist. Do you think that christians who are anti-racist and anti-sexist like acknowledging that there are hateful people who share their faith? No, but it’s still a fact of life. It doesn’t paint them in a bad light anymore than the exist of racist/sexist neo-pagans paints you in a bad light.

Please read what I wrote before jumping on my case. You’re getting a little defensive for no reason. No one is attacking you or your faith. I very much like neo-pagans and generally find them to be great people. I don’t like racists and sexists, no matter their faith, though.

Their stated position is often along the lines of “we don’t hate anyone, we just love white people!” I suppose it could be seen as a sign of social progress that even the bigots don’t want to be labeled as “racist” anymore.

THAT particular Celtic cross is by and large used by the white supremacist subset of neopaganism. Others of Celtic descent use a completely different design.

Nah, they usually hide behind the smiling rictus. They’re just trying to provide a future for the white race!

This is what I think of when I think of a celtic cross.

The white supremacists who are appropriating my culture (no matter how incorrectly) can fuck right off.
