Selena Gomez to play Linda Ronstadt in new biopic

The ones people have already posted are great essentials, but she has a lot (srry this is probably way more than you wanted  ):

Not her big hits but great stuff:

Besides her talent Ronstadt just always seemed to have a knack for knowing how to pick great songs.

ETA: shows how long it took to compose this post that the one above got to the Stone Ponys before)

My memory as a grade schooler in the 70s was that, similar to The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, she suffered something of a backlash from being sooooo popular, and especially being associated with The Eagles and country-rock which certain sorts considered deeply un-cool.

It’s ok Linda, we forgive you for your role in helping form The Eagles

I’ve been doing a deep dive into The Monkees recently, and WOW, what a bizarre, unique, and wonderful phenomenon they were. Despite the committee approach to making their music, there’s not a bad song in the bunch (the predigree of their songwriters - for the songs they didn’t write themselves, that is - is astonishing), each of the guys had off-the-charts charisma, and the show was groundbreaking, amazing to watch even today - especially season two, which went into who-gives-a-shit-let’s-try-it territory that I’ve never seen any TV show since attempt.

I will brook no criticism of the so-called “Pre-fab Four.”

Along with “Long, Long Time”, I always loved this one:

I thought “The Prefab Four” were The Rules?

Are you sure you’re not confusing them with Prefab Sprout?

Yes, because

  1. Hot dog, jumpin’ frog, Albuquerque.
  2. The Expression is definitely used in the documentary.
