A good example of “a lie travels halfway around the world while the truth is still putting its shoes on.” The police union jumped all over the story the night it happened and by morning everyone knew the false narrative, a few days later the details were finally revealed that exonerated the shop but that didn’t get as much press.

but that the milkshake machine was not properly drained of cleaning solution before the milkshake mixture was added to it.

Have to say, that sound pretty gross though. It’s not like they completely made it up “to get sympathy” they just jumped to a conclusion (and as usual abused their authority along the way)
