Should Cesar Millan be fed to pigs? So-called expert lets vicious dog rip pet porker's ear off

It was the one directed by Guy Ritchie.

I used to live next to a large public pasture in Yorkshire; not only did animals graze there, but people exercised their dogs there as well. My own dog had no interest in the sheep or the cows (she only had eyes for birds), but occasionally a dog would decide to chase a sheep and need to be dealt with. Unlike the local police, the pasture masters had guns.

It had apparently been common at one time to ‘cure’ a dog of worrying sheep by tying it with a short length of rope to a tough old ram. We have some tough old (feral) pigs in my current part of the world that could serve the same purpose with a pig-biting dog.

Pigs make the best bacon.

Here is a more nuanced and detailed look at Milan and critics.

Of course not, these are things that are important for people to know. I’m disappointed in you specifically for the reason I stated.

I believe Rob is doing Andy Kaufman. You are here for his amusement.

I imagine it would sound a lot like the lower embedded video cued to 4:58.

I hope the PA also gets charged for pulling the pig’s leg to make it squeal, attracting the dog’s attention.

Ah, the “It’s just a prank, bro” or “It’s was a social experiment” defense. Not a twit, just pretending to be one. Sure.

Defense? What makes you think saying someone is “doing Andy Kaufman” is a defense? Nope, not defending Rob, just noting what his post reminds me of.

And, as to observations of people’s behavior, you seem wound a little tight.

AFAIK they make the only bacon.

You guys are absolutely rediculous. This is coming from a person who has had her own dogs kill her livestock. I wish I could figure out a way to stop this. They cant be kenneled constantly and I have tried numerous tactics suggested by" top notchdog trainers" and Dog Behaviorists. Two days ago while I was in the shower , they killed my 6 month old St. Bernard Puppy. I now have absolutely no feelings for these dogs. I cant afford to take them to the pound. They charge $150 per dog. I wish Ceasar had been to my house. I don’t care what method he uses. Just get them to stop killing. This isnt the first dog they have killed. . Now I just want them gone. Its too late for any kind of redemption. I cant even look at them.

I am kind of confused, wasn’t Cesar Millan a hero of Boing Boing and a guy Mark Frauenfelder called a friend? Now Rob wants me to think he’s the Antichrist and stuff? Or have we always been at war with Eastasia?

I teach animal care subjects for high school students. I try to convince my students Mr. Milan is full of doo doo and his show is just that; a TV show. To convince them I grab an episode at random and Mr. Milan roughs up a little dog and starts punching it with his fist. The class in unison says “Oh, is that what you were talking about?” Thank you Mr. Milan for proving that you are full of doo doo.

Jeez, Candice, I’m so sorry for your puppy. If your current dogs are beyond control, and they are a particular breed, there is probably a nearby rescue service for the breed you can at least consult for advice.

I’m not finding anything to that effect by using Google to search Boing Boing.

Or at any rate don’t let the pigs eat ALL of him. Just 10, maybe 15 percent of Cesar Millan tops. We’re not monsters.

I once attended a veterinary behavior conference where one of the boarded specialists spent no less than 2/3 of a full day’s lectures addressing each and every of Cesar Milan’s BS training techniques.

Pretty much every single boarded Veterinary Behavior Specialist I have met absolutely hates the man, and thinks that his training methods are total BS, and more harmful than helpful (these are veterinarians who have done a residency, then sat for board exams etc…).

It was back when I still listened to the podcasts, a discussion about a new book about successful people. I stopped listening because as much as I like Boing Boing, Mark is not a good podcaster. The audio quality was also ganky in comparison to Accidental Tech Podcast or any of the Incomparable series. They were talking about how Cesar found a niche and exploited it (in a good sense).
