These are incredibly invasive animals.
Florida’s had three outbreaks. The first two were contained and eliminated at a cost of millions of dollars. The third outbreak is in progress, and they expect to be equally successful. But all it would take is one getting to someplace like the Everglades.
And all because someone wanted to show off a cool pet.
