What those crooks didn’t count on was the fact that Adam Savage modified his vehicle to transform into an autonomous, vengeance-seeking battlemech in the event of theft. The thieves are probably in a trash compactor somewhere by now.

Well, that and booby traps, but Adam Savage is a far better person than I (which is probably for the best given how much more he can do).
