It’ll be an unintended boon for South Carolina. A lot of people will get themselves SOC Linux systems like Raspberry Pis for viewing porn, and in the process learn a lot more about computers than otherwise.

So this seems like it would also outlaw any computer with a serious operating system on it, since anyone with root could trivially disable this on any such system.

What could possibly go wrong? My Cell phone provider had a porn and violence (or something) block on by default that was so stupidly run I couldn’t view a commercial kitchen knife sales site. I had to call and ask to be unblocked, as if I was trying to ask a parent to let me see naked people even though it was actually the overblocking I needed removed.

I can’t find the text of the proposed bill, but the Devil (Bill Chumley) is in the details. I’m wondering how they defined “computer” and if it would also apply to smart phones, tablets, internet routers, internet of things crap, etc.
