This is a wonderful thing!
This is lovely, and much better than the gigantic sculpture of a middle finger that Georgia’s Confederate revanchists also deserve.
minor correction: John Lewis was a US Representative, not a senator.
Also, Basil Watson is amazing. I’ve had the pleasure of hosting him in a local city art gallery.
i love this so much. more of this everywhere, please.
OK, so, how about we keep the Confederate statues where they are, but remove the top two-fifths of each statue. Call it a Three-Fifths Compromise.
Decatur is an awesome and very liberal town. Nice that they were able to make this happen
My proposal was to hammer all the old Confederate monuments into a giant chair to replace the one at the Lincoln Memorial so Abe could sit atop the symbols of his fallen enemies like the King of Westeros.
How wonderfully appropriate
I also love the mural down on Auburn… this is not my picture, but clearly, it was from right after his death…
Just as long as it doesn’t remove any part of a horse they may be mounted on.
Hell. Just remove everything but the horse.
