Exactly. If your government is going to be a bunch of ruthless murderers, better for them to have communism in their hearts than whatever breed of insanity that normally grips that type.

Russiaās prison camps may not be ādeath campsā in the strict sense that they deliberately kill the people imprisoned there, but they are thoroughly inhumane gulag-style establishments, and the fact that there are places in Russia where there are laws on the books that make it illegal to talk about LGBT issues - or be an LGBT person and talk about your own identity at all - mean it isnāt out of the question that you could be on the next Pussy Riot express out to some work camp simply because you were gay and out.
Itās a sporting event, not a crowbar to be used to effect political change.
Lobby the IOC by all means, but donāt screw our sportspeople over by boycotting Games.

I disagree, I think the Olympics is a crowbar used for political effect. Itās just that the political effect is always pro-fascism.
