Stephen King is so mad that Kubrick’s The Shining is better than his book.
His objection centers on the fact that Nicholson plays Jack Torrance as unhinged from the get-go, whereas he’s supposed to be a normal guy gradually driven mad by the Overlook. Obviously it’s still a great movie, but King does have a good point there.
