I’m reminded of the parent who has to get to work on time and is at the mercy of the toddler lying on the floor, in a tantrum, refusing to get their shoesies on.
Only the parent is the United States trying to address two hot wars claiming lives of allies and civilians, and to avert another unnecessary budget crisis threatening total shutdown in a few weeks. And the toddler is the GOP refusing to clean up the pile of their own stool in which they sit, while yelling, “SEE? Government IS the problem!”
