This is part and parcel of what Rogan does. He doesn’t apply pressure to people or challenge them. He just acknowledges and and let’s them talk. Everything is “great”, everything is “interesting”, he never thought of it that way. With reasonable folk he’ll do shit like ask about vitamin shots and saunas repeatedly. Their presence in such a reasonable discussion, makes them seem valid by association.
And said reasonable discussion will sit in a context of regular appearances by Alex Jones, alt-med, and alt-right figures. What they say will be “great” and “interesting”, and Rogan will have never thought of it that way. He’ll even acknowledge what they say is true. He’ll nod, acknowledge, validate. Never challenge.
He’ll promote bringing those voices of reason on for weeks also, and repeatedly thank them and be thanked by them.
That’s how his trick works. He washes the conspiracy and virulent politics by dint of a very non-confrontational approach where everything is valid. And occasionally inviting non-assholes on to burnish his own validity. It’s Glen Beck’s just asking questions with a dash of “all sides” and a bong hit.
