It shits me to tears that cyclists aren’t considered quasi-pedestrians in most jurisdictions.
Why? As a bike rider I am fine with DUI laws. Its not my doing that my state declines to apply them to me.
I’m talking more generally than DUI. Ok, sure, technically a bike is a vehicle, but come on. They weigh like ten kilos so their status as vehicles is negligible.
Why is vehicle mass important in this context?
Bicycle riders are protected by laws which define bicycles as vehicles. Why do you want to remove those protections?
I was hoping for a high speed pursuit…
And take away some union jobs?
I am very pro cycling, but part of that is taking responsibility and accepting that bicycles can still be dangerous
