As an engineer I assure you that I don’t wear a business suit and there are a lot more people dressed like me in a tech company than in a security uniform or executive suit. Even on a naval ship, most of the sailors are not in body armor. The poor Marines, who don’t have much else to do while under way, are probably the only ones forced to wear body armor unnecessarily.
What seems more crazy that its use as a promo image is that surely a VFX artist worked closely on this footage adding the blaster fire.
The free-wheeling way they edit and re-edit content nowadays, I’m sure he’s already been CGI-wiped from future re-airings of the episode.
