I don’t know what rat poison tastes like, but arguably anything you add to a food or drink that alters the flavor would count as ‘spicing’ said food or drink.

it is not unheard of to become violently ill after eating taco bell, rat poison or not.

Since Aspartame (Diet Coke) and Fluoride (most toothpastes) are ingredients in rat poison, you probably have a good idea of what it tastes like.
