Stop rewarding people for bad behaviour. This is what the right wanted. Ban them from the stores and make them face the consequences of their actions.
I’m hearing that the far right will be out trying to incite violence next month. Either we get beaten up (or worse) or we fight back and they will claim they were right all along.
It is hard to stop myself giving in to hopelessness.

I can understand Target’s concerns for its employees. However, where’s the line? What if wing-necks raise a ruckus about makeup, clothing, foods, etc. that are “targeted” or generally bought by Black or Latino or Asian, etc. people? Will they strip those products from the stores as well? It’s a slippery slope.

Giving in to the bullies. This sucks. I hope they take the next week to regroup and hire, I don’t know, 3 security guards should be enough to cover all the shifts, for each store that experienced this brutish behavior. Move the merch back up to a place of PRIDE and staff it with someone who will take out the bullies. Literally, physically remove them from the store and ban them for life.

This is dumb. Have you been living under a rock the last two + years? The anti trans/gay/drag furor is at a level I haven’t seen in a long time. They should KNOW that any support is going to be met with push back. Even if they “scaled down” the display, any support is going to be met with push back. There is no level of appeasement that will work.
Not even pride themed stuff, but the simple fact that boys clothes have, gasp, bright colors and maybe a rainbow is making them lose their shit.
They should have known this would happen and be prepared to actually stand up for their “corporate morals”, because otherwise the good PR you hoped to gain from supporting Pride Month just evaporates as well.

None. This behavior should not be tolerated, at all, ever. And cowering in fear and bowing to their demands isn’t helping us. That’s why I recommended getting better security. We seriously need to start showing the fashholes that they ARE NOT in charge.
And holding public figures, including politicians, accountable for their acts of stochastic terrorism.

They are fascists. Fucking fascists to those in the know. They know it, we know it, but it is considered “impolite” to say so. Funnily enough, calling us “socialists” and “communists” does not seem to be the same problem.

Most people here on the threads are white, and straight.
You probably have no real idea how tiring this all is to queer people. How draining. How desperate it makes us feel, constantly.
Every day, another “request” for us to be hidden, another threat, another assualt, another rule, another lie, another law, another murder, EVERY FUCKING DAY.
Then there’s a little glimmer as somebody says “We stock this thing for you!” and we know it isn’t worth getting excited about, but we want to, we deserve joy and to be included - but we know that soon, real soon, they’ll cave. Again.
Every. Fucking. Time.
So while you all think, "…hmm, something ought to be done… " yet another queer person is wondering how they’re going to get through the day, why they should even bother, when clearly the world doesn’t care about them, because this battle is every fucking day, and it wears people down. Desperate people do desperate things without hope.
Your allyship means fuck all if you don’t actually stand up for us.
