They’re a step behind though. Only the most unsophisticated still need Confederate flags, and Amazon is still selling Blue Lives Matter paraphernalia.
I wonder what the e-commerce equivalent of Gab will be.
It’s peak Summer, where are racist’s going to buy their beach towels now?
You’d think at least some of this stuff would constitute a hate crime.
I wonder how they’re handling Lynyrd Skynyrd merchandise, e.g.:
Does it still need all 13 stars to be a confederate flag?
Glad they were pressured to stop selling these, but it’s worrying that we have to depend on Amazon to handle this for us.
A quick search on Amazon shows there are still lots of Confederate traitor items for sale. And even more Qanon and MAGA trash.
That’s what gets me. As much as people throw around the “treason” as and “traitor” these days as a rhetorical device, the confederates were ACTUAL traitors. Even if you buy the “heritage not hate” argument,(I don’t) it IS a heritage of TREASON.
Anyone who wants the old Georgia flag can just buy the current flag for the city of Trenton, Georgia, which Amazon can’t really get rid of given that it’s an actual official flag of an actual existing city government.
Fascist lighting gets a pass? /s
As a Briton it does make me laugh when I hear this line come up.
Everyone whose name is on the Constitution was a traitor too. The United States as a nation was founded on treason.
A far better reason to hate the Confederacy is simply that their cause was evil.
Trenton? That doesn’t surprise me. It’s the County Seat of Dade County, a county that couldn’t even wait for Georgia to succeed from the Union, and went ahead and succeeded from both Georgia and the United States in 1860.
It is kind of funny. Here in Canada the immigrants who arrived from the US during and after the US gained independence are referred to as the Loyalists.
But Bruce! “Zed’s dead, baby. Zed’s dead”
What’s that supposed to mean? Who should be handling it, if not Amazon?
Yeah, but those rebels could argue they were only trying to restore normality after Bolingbroke’s treasonous usurpation of Dickie the Second.
(Well, it’d’ve been worth a shot, anyway.)
You know, I can at least understand their argument for displaying a Confederate flag (it’s a completely spurious argument, but I understand why someone might buy into it), but having a noose decal on your car? Nope.
Well here in Maryland, the deposing of James II by some random Dutch guy was an excuse for much fighting, burning, and settling of scores.
Bamboo torches aren’t fascist. Anarchists, liberals. communists & democratic socialists can use them too.
