Tales From the Loop might be the bleakest thing on TV since Threads. It was not good for my mental health, I quit watching after two episodes.
I like the artwork, he’s great at world building. Hopefully, this show is a bit more entertaining and less depressingly grim.
LOUD BANGING DRUMS AND NOSTALGIC MUSIC! LOUD BANGING DRUMS AND NOSTALGIC MUSIC! LOUD BANGING DRUMS AND NOSTALGIC MUSIC!
Holy crap can we please stop this stupid movie trailer trope?!
Oh, come on. A feel good romp if ever there was one!
True, Threads had something for everyone in a 20-mile radius.
It wasn’t just me then? Thank you.
I feel that Simon Stålenhag’s artwork is contemplative and elegiac, so I was surprised by the tone of the series. I felt the same about the shift between the comic page and movie screen for Hellboy; though Del Toro’s humorous tone was different to what I expected, but at least I was able to enjoy it.
I couldn’t complete the first episode. I found it simultaneously boring and grim.
A romantic comedy about Debbie and her search for love in mid-eighties Sheffield. One star.
Electric State looks like it might be good. Somewhere on a scale from Fallout to The Last of Us.
