Ted Cruz and wife leave restaurant when surrounded by protestors chanting "We believe survivors"

I wonder if irony crossed the minds of Allied soldiers as they blasted away at Nazis.

don’t worry. they always claim the moral high ground.

after all they have “god on their side.”

( where “god”, “their”, and “side” – okay even “on” – gets to be entirely defined by them. )

And yet so many people who claim to have the moral high ground often support the most inhumane and immoral policies possible.

No justice? Then no peace, muthafuckas.

No peace find

No friend keep

No lover bind

No harvest reap

No repose take

No hunger feed

No thirst slake

No sorrow speed

No debt pay

No fear flee

Rue the day

You wronged me

it’s a little known fact that antifa are not just anti-facist. they’re also fighting over-priced italian food ( 125 dollars a plate! ) and ■■■■■ towelettes ( ■■■■■! )

This guy have to learn his actions have consequences, even if it’s just leaving a restaurant.

Why this godammed Canadian motherfucking piece of shit is my Senator, I don’t know. We had Kay Bailey Hutchinson before it and while I never agreed with her, at least she sent me letters, lots and lots of letters stating her position on things. I admired that and I miss her. Why Texas is so fucked up, I might never know, mainly because I live in Austin.

I don’t think Cruz even remembers what roads look like at this point, he’s been scurrying through the sewer for years.

Really? I don’t recall examples of the extreme right doing this.

Citation please – which Democrats have been hounded out of a restaurant by rightwing protesters?

That’s what I was thinking, actually. I can’t think of right wing groups using means such as these… they more often carefully work within the bounds, until they stop doing that (Charlottesville, for example, where they got permits, etc for the march, and then it turned into a day of violence driven by racists extremists).

I know some alt-right conservative types who scoff at getting near any downtown urban place where “fancy schmancy” restaurants are located. Guessing too many liberal foodies with forks might be a problem for them. IDK

Also, “downtown urban” is often associated with “those people”… not liburals, but you know… URBAN people… /s

The only case I can think of is Westboro Baptist Church, but they’re more of a personal injury scam than they are right-wing protesters.

Surely both Democrats and Republicans can agree it’s not OK to drag Ted Cruz’s wife into angry political squabbl— …oh, right.

It will fly right over the heads of these rubes that Cruz, like most champions of Real Americans™ whose conception of the height of luxury is a casual dining chain in an exurban mall, is going out with his i-banker wife to a downtown fine-dining establishment and probably does so on a regular basis.

Il Douche, of course, doesn’t have to worry as much about getting caught since he has the sophisticated palate of an 8th grade boy.

Or the Pizzagate jackass, which wasn’t so much a protest as a gun-enabled fever dream.

“Per our policy for events of this nature, police were called and the guest escorted to privacy,” owner and chef Fabio Trabocchi said.

“When the situation resolved a few minutes later, our guests returned to thank the staff for their support and to finish their exceptional meal,” he added.

An establishment worth boycotting?

Or at least some well placed crappy reviews.

I cannot remember an example of this tactic being used before the Trump administration. I’d also point out that the whole thing happens (or doesn’t) based on the approval of the restaurant manager/owner. In this case, the protesters were kicked out, but only after Cruz left. If neo-Nazi’s tried this with, let’s say, Elizabeth Warren, the protesters would be kicked out and Warren could proceed with a peaceful dinner.

What makes this tactic successful is that what these politicians stand for harms the vast majority of Americans. That makes the restaurant staff and management allies of the protesters.

Sure about that?
