I saw an interview win John Cleese,who was talking about meeting Jacques Tati for the first time. Apparently after a slow start they got on famously after realising they shared a common belief that Gerald Ford falling down those stairs was pretty much the funniest thing that had ever happened.

Interesting how? What she says, and how she says it, both depict her blogging to us from within a disturbing fantasy world. Thatād be okay, maybe even amusing, except sheās trying also to shape the education of millions of young people.

Ford did not have the explosive anger that is well known among athletes with multiple head injuries. Quite the opposite, in fact. He was very gentle and very controlled. Remember, back then there was a lot less protective gear, so despite the fact that itās counter-intuitive, American football players didnāt have as many dangerous injuries as they do now.

Iām not exactly following this thread of the conversation, which continues from comments about Ford falling down stairs but appears to be back on the main topic. Are you saying Ford both looked and quacked like someone who had too many concussions from falling down? Are you saying Obama both looks like a sex worker and quacks like a sex worker?

I donāt think I misunderstood, because there doesnāt seem to be a lot of room for that. But how could I have possibly understood correctly? Muslim, Kenyan; I know some people see black and immediately start othering. But sex worker? Maybe I should be checking if obamaslashfic is a taken domain name and registering it if it isnāt.

Iād guess it has to do with making sure all the bases that ick out the lunatic right wing are coveredā¦ foreigners, check, teh gays, check, sex worker, check. Since being openly racist is not generally considered bad form, itās far better to hit these identities which are much less acceptable in daily life.
But at the end of the day, these are just racist, sexist, xenophobic assholes who want to cover their asses, so they come up with these insane conspiracies to feel better about themselves. But the truth is they are afraid of and hate other human beings. Iām kind of sick of giving them a pass, though.

Indeed.
On my tolerant days I want to have compassion for everyone, but those days are fewer and fewer and most days I just sigh and think of what will be written on our tombs one day. People want to be on the wrong side of history and there is nothing to be done about it except wait.
But really, 10:1 whoever first tried to make the Obama-sex-worker connection gets an erotic thrill out of the idea.
