I suspect I might be in precisely the wrong generational landing point. I’ll be 42 this April, and vaporwave DOES remind me of my childhood.
…but only the parts of my childhood where I was intensely bored because I’d been dragged to the mall as my parents thought I was too young to stay home by myself.
Still, I admire the meta-æsthetic of taking purely commercial sonic art and repurposing it as a tool of expression.
