I want to walk in there, ask if they have “Serenity”, get dissed, walk out, then walk back in and again ask for “Serenity”.
“Groundhog Day” might also have worked.
This was circulating a while back:

I remember having difficulty at the time determining exactly where it came from. Seems it’s this guy.
Do you see what happens, Jerry!?
While you’re there, ask if they have any grapes.
Godfather Pt 2, or Jerry Maguire?
I wouldn’t say either are as good as their reputations suggest. And Cuba Gooding Jr is the worst actor to ever get an acting Oscar.
Two goats at a garbage dump. One finds a VHS of “Jerry McGuire” and gobbles it down. The other asks, “How was it?” The first goat replies, “Not bad. Not as good as the book …”
Re Godfather 2, the popular consensus seems to be that it’s better than Part 1. Why would that be, and why do you disagree?
Dunno. Because it has De Niro in it rather than a mumbling Brando?
I haven’t watched any of them in years. Thought they were all a bit overlong and dull, to be honest. Give me Goodfellas any day.
Oooh, I’ve never seen a picture of that, thanks!
You should find yourself a copy of Stories From The Nerve Bible (linked above). Fascinating read.
That’s correct. I think she called it Holiday on Ice, if I remember correctly (saw her talk about it in a lecture once, but that was years ago!). Can’t remember where it was, though.
Edit: or Duets on Ice, if everyone else in the universe is right!
By several orders of magnitude, I would imagine.
I don’t think movie studios were releasing movies on Betamax any more by 1996.
I’m watching it right now. Really.
No, that wouldn’t have worked because the film is already surreal. Why “Jerry Maguire” works for this is precisely because the movie is so “normal”.
Yep, I get it. Ya know, Larson later saw the film, enjoyed it, and apologized for his cartoon.
Godfather Part II and Empire Strikes Back (and sometimes Toy Story 2 or 3) are the default “exception that proves the rule”* answers when the ever-recurring question arises, usually on daytime radio, if any movie sequels ever surpass the originals.
I agree with those answers, FWIW. There are many more too but that’s a separate conversation, at least until The Cruiser decides to make Jerry Maguire: The Quickening or whatever.
* Yes, I do know this isn’t what “exception that proves the rule” really means. I am using it incorrectly on purpose, irregardless ;-0
Perhaps stashed in their break room.
