When will it be time to stop “giving Biden a chance,” and instead start fighting back?
Are there sources for his administration directly opposing the $15 minimum wage? My understanding is that the only person who’s scuttled it is the Senate Parliamentarian who’s said that a wage hike can’t be added to a budget bill through reconciliation, and the Biden Administration isn’t willing to raise hackles against this, but is rather willing to sign standalone legislation (or any other legislation) outside of the stimulus bill that creates a $15 federal minimum wage.
“Democrats are going to lose when popular programs are being blocked by the GOP.”
The Biden administration is center-left, and trying to carry out policy that is slightly more progressive than the policy positions that convincingly won them the primary, but they’re trying to conduct business in an atmosphere where half the Senate is far right, and nearly half the House is so off the charts batshit that they think that violent assault on their colleagues is OK. But sure, let’s link arms and join with the GOP as they try to obstruct the administration’s attempt to implement policy initiatives.
Fixing yesterdays problems tomorrow is a conservative position, or at least it was before conservative became a synonym for fascist.
The richest 100 would pay $78 Billion each.
Meet the new boss…
Same as the old boss…
Biden backs push for Amazon workers to unionize, albeit not mentioning Amazon by name. That’s a start, and gives me some hope for the future.
Some forward movement on immigration: Anonymous DHS officials have talked about plans to turn the detention centers along the border into immigration screening hubs that look to let migrant families into the country within 72 hours, with pending immigration court dates after that.
Yeah the explanation for the new facilities seems to be panning out similar to what they said. I was cautiously hopeful that they were forced to open new facilities to even begin to repair families separated under Trump, and so far it remains cautiously hopeful.
Whisky redemption: Biden administration lifts hated tariffs on Scotland’s most famous export
Scotch whisky makers, whose single malt whiskies had been hit with U.S. tariffs of 25 percent, were jubilant at the announcement, which should make imported Scottish single malts cheaper for U.S. drinkers.
I guess it’s already time to rev up the empire’s engine and start overturning governments down south again? (“Interim president”???)
Maduro’s about as legitimately elected as Kim Jong-Un, and not much better for Venezuela, though.
It is possible to think that both Maduro and Guaido are shit choices for Venezuela.
Do you consider FAIR illegitimate as well?
Yeah, I would be sadly unsurprised if Guaidó is also shit. But there’s no question about Maduro’s shittiness, nor the complete rottenness, incompetence and dishonesty of the Chavista regime in Venezuela.
