Or blame nihilism
And now for something stoatally different!
Given where they toss the ferret, maybe this sport was the inspiration for that scene?

Pshaw, The Dude didn’t last five seconds, nevermind five hours?!?
But srsly, thanks for this. Totally love, and now I have a new “verb” for our next MadLib session. Won’t they be impressed!
When Juneteenth was announced as a holiday I semi-joked to an African American woman colleague that it was only a matter of time until a Southern US state announced a co-holiday honoring “displaced property owners” or some other silliness. She said “that’s silly.” It took less time than I expected.
TIL that there is a “Confederate Memorial Day” in most of the former states of that failed nation. It’s an “official” state holiday only in three, including SC. The proposed compromise to keep the current holiday schedule rather than add a new day off for Juneteenth — state employees will be allowed take off one or the other but not both.
Easy way to determine who is an asshole. They self-sort!
“Build a Bitch” - I see those lessons in morality are really sticking
ETA: to be clear, that phrase was in the linked article
Everyone knows it’s perfectly moral to keep your women in line and remind them that their value are only related to how the men in their lives see them… /s
It doesn’t even make sense…like, if I only have 25 points, why would I use 6 of them to ensure “virgin” when I could use that same 6 points to get someone who’s generous, stands up for rights and has ambitious goals? So aside from being very offensive, it’s just totally stupid.
It ain’t your body, lady.
The case hinged on the allegation that she had not told her doctor she was pregnant, six weeks before her due date. I don’t see how a doctor would miss that detail such that they would need it pointed out to them.
“It is alleged that the defendant obtained hydrocodone from a medical doctor while she was pregnant without disclosing to the doctor that she was pregnant,” Connolly said. “Had the defendant disclosed her pregnancy, she would have been weaned off of the hydrocodone by the medical doctor.”
Lawyers thinking they understand medicine and know what’s best for the patient. Fuck ‘em. And stay the hell out of my exam room.
Hey, Connolly: Maybe the med should’ve been weaned, maybe not. BUT IT’S NOT YOUR CALL TO MAKE.
So what matters is their ancestors died fighting in a war. Doesn’t matter that they were traitors fighting for a racist regime against the US. Doesn’t matter that they died opposing the act that the real holiday celebrates.
Sounds like that puts Nazi memorial day on the table too. I would include all the other opponents in recent wars, but giving options to non-white people would sort of defeat the obvious purpose, wouldn’t it?
She hadn’t had an office visit due to the pandemic. The thing that stood out to me is that the doctor (allegedly) didn’t ask before writing the prescription. Anytime I’ve needed medicine, they’ve asked that question.
Oh, and this part is just WTF:
Less than two months after the birth, police officers swarmed Blalock’s house while she and her husband were out of town. Her two teenagers were at home and said at least seven armed officers entered asking questions about her whereabouts. The teenagers were so rattled they went to stay with their grandparents.
No prenatal visits though? Or she had a different doctor for prenatal visits and they weren’t in sync? Many questions here.
And I could only imagine how my kids would react if armed thugs barged into my house while I was away. I’m sure my son would have been shot since cops love shooting special needs kids (he didn’t follow directions, he was resisting!)
