I can’t even imagine the mental gymnastics involved in the (inevitable) whining about not being allowed to display the flags of hostile foreign powers on American military bases; but I can’t shake the feeling that plenty of people are busy concocting them as we speak.

If the neo-Confederates think this is bad, someone should tell them there was a time when the U.S. military would SHOOT anyone even approaching one of their bases carrying that flag.
