Overallgate!
I should start a thread for Missouri state government idiocy.

I admit to only skimming the articles, but it seems to me â as a general rule, within the context that I know nothing about the history of this particular state senator or your state senate as a whole â that wearing clean overalls with a jacket over them is a reasonable choice in a rural state where many of the constituents wear them for their daily work. In other words, I donât see this as being disrespectful in general, but obviously I wouldnât know if he was meaning to be disrespectful in this particular instance.
I have a problem with the idea that the only people who can be elected to public office are those with law or business degrees and who know how to wear expensive suits.
Two occupations ruling the roost results in government of, by and for only those two occupations.
this reminds me of the time tip oâneill had democratic representative jim mattox escorted out of the house because he wasnât wearing a tie.
not that iâm going to give my full-throated support to a member of the death-cult such as state senator mine moon but i think that stripping him of committee assignments over wearing denim is pretty fucking stupid.
Reading the articles, it sounds like the outfit was the icing on his cake of assholery and obstruction.
Yeah, compare this to Sinema, who WAS consciously being a lot less respectful:
Yeah, I agree with @anon67050589; we should encourage different backgrounds in our legislators. But this is truly odd because there are pictures of him wearing a suit with tie and slacks. It does appear that heâs wearing the overalls as a purposeful statement (and what that statement is, I have no idea).
I feel sorry for kids in this school
I wonder who leaked the video?
Ross Roggio, 53, from Stroudsburg, allegedly suffocated the victim with a belt, threatening to cut off one of the victimâs fingers and directing Kurdish soldiers to inflict other severe pain and suffering in the victim.
â
A superseding indictment stated that Roggio was managing a project in 2015 to construct a factory and produce weapons in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The indictment stated that one of Roggioâs employees raised concerns about the weapons project. Upon learning of this, Roggio arranged for Kurdish soldiers to abduct the employee.
The employee was allegedly detained at a Kurdish military compound for 39 days, where Roggio led multiple interrogation sessions in which he directed soldiers to suffocate, tase and beat the victim to the point of losing consciousness.
Roggio and the Roggio Consulting Company LLC were also charged in a 37- count indictment back in 2018 for illegally exporting firearms parts and tools from the United States to Iraq. This was part of the weapons project in Iraq. The new torture charges have been added to these 37 counts.
Agree we should encourage legislators from more varied backgrounds. I think the guy looks ridiculous but he is clothed. Iâd assume typical business attire is informally required for the same reason as courts, itâs about respect. Were it just the clothes, his assignments shouldnât have been revoked. But it sounds like the gentleman has been on a campaign to cause problems and obstruct the work of the chamber and his attitude about changing clothes was either the final straw or the excuse to come down on him. Based on the other pics of him on other days, he was deliberately trying to ruckus
âNo more smoking, no more doing drugs, no more sleeping, no more doing barbecues on the subway system,â Adams said, at a press conference at Fulton Street subway stop Friday morning. âNo more just doing whatever you want. No, those days are over ⌠The system was not made to be housing, itâs made to be transportation.â
Then DO SOMETHING about the housing crisis!!! HOUSE PEOPLE you fucking assholes!!!
It also calls for adding 490 safe haven and âstabilizationâ beds â shelters that provide mental health treatment â as well as the creation of new drop-in centers for homeless people at key subway stations through a $100 million state investment. Along with police, the city will dispatch 30 joint response teams that include homeless services and health department workers to conduct outreach to homeless people on the subway.
So, still ignoring the heart of the problem, then, the out of control cost of living in cities like NYCâŚ
Neckties reduce carotid artery blood flow. In some cases, it can be significant - 30% in one study. There are good medical reasons to never wear a tie. I wonât do it anymore.
i have often pushed the theory that it is neckties reducing the flow of blood to the brain that are responsible for much of the stupidity created by men in power.
I wonder if thisâll set up another occasion where the US extradites a fugitive back to China⌠although this time with an agreement that the locations and details of Guoâs hidden assets (something that China is certainly more capable of wresting from Guo) are revealed to the US.
Yet another GOP Pervert Alert:
