Umm…
Yep. Maybe a little more than I expected, but still wholly inadequate since they are giving this fascist airtime to begin with.
That’s part of the problem I have with NPR. So polite and respectful to every “guest.” Toothless assholes.
“Yeah, I want to say Hitler but for some reason that’s still a controversial name. Anyone else famous for just openly butchering their own citizens?”
They probably have a problem with Pol Pot, but only because he was a communist (at least in name). They would find a lot to agree with if they only talk about the concept of Year Zero.
Listened to that getting ready for work. Credit to the host for not letting her just spew talking points unchallenged. She had no cogent response, and just repeating the same lies again. Like most fascists, she had no clue how to do an interview in which her bullshit was not taken unquestioned at face value. Not thrilled with them giving her a platform, but am pleased they forced her to look like an idiot.
Wow, they really have a thing for losers…
There’s a great skit to be written having Hitler calling the suicide hotline.
Something, something, separation…
Efff those bible thumping pricks.
Bible reading times during the day? WTAF. What next tall minarets around the state bullhorning christofascist propaganda?
Nah, too close to Mooslim. Can’t have that sort included in this here Christian Nation!!! (/s and )
Does it have to be displayed in English? What about a microscopic font size? What about Arabic or Hebrew script?
Wing dings!
Alas, the law specifically states that it must be in a large durable format, with clearly legible text readable by someone with average or worse eyesight from across the room.
They want people to clearly and without ambiguity see their contempt for the constitution and civil society.
Giving time to prayer in school does NOT count toward instructional minutes in California. Anything that isn’t direct instruction (direct engagement between the teacher and the students) will add minutes to the total number of minutes for the day. This includes silent Bible reading.
I have a feeling that the Texan bible thumpers will view the reading from that book of ancient mythology as “instructional minutes”. Hell, they will probably add a Summer Tent Revival for fun.
Yeah, I don’t think Texas Republicans even care about accreditation or adding time to their underpaid teachers day.
What does an ex-Pharma Bro do next? If it’s Shkreli, it’s an AI Dr bot
[…]
On Thursday, Martin Shkreli, released last year from a seven-year stint in prison for securities fraud, announced the availability of Dr Gupta. The controversial entrepreneur described the project as “The world’s first physician chatbot,” in a tweet on Thursday.
[…]
The Register also asked, “Do you have any concern people may get bad advice from the model and follow that advice, leading to harm?”
That question went unanswered. Dr Gupta does come with a warning that the bot is not providing actual medical advice.

Interesting read.
Also, this had previously escaped my attention:
Shkreli, shortly after being let out of prison, last year launched Druglike, “a decentralized science (DeSci) drug discovery Web3 platform” that the company’s press release [PDF] insisted “is not a pharmaceutical company.”
