The Gallery of Just Plain Assholes (Part 2)

There’s been a continuing series of hit-piece articles like this.

https://www.secjuice.com/mastodon-child-porn-pedophiles/

One things that they don’t mention is that most of the instances where they found CSAM have been defederated by most other instances. What they’re not measuring is if any of that crap is traveling off of those pest-holes.

To conduct its research, the Internet Observatory scanned the 25 most popular Mastodon instances for CSAM.

I’m not sure how they determined “most popular”. Did they use the sites’ own reported stats for that, and how did they verify them?

The articles are usually sloppy, frequently calling it “the Mastodon platform” and rarely mentioning the Fediverse. (One article say that would be silly, like equating Facebook with the Internet, but then does it anyway. :man_shrugging:)

Everyone’s view of the Fediverse will be different, depending on where you are, and who you follow, but I tend to doubt that there’s some vast sea of CSAM just beyond the people I follow and the replies by other people.

For those who might find that standing-all-by-itself headline confusing, this part of the article helps:

“The federal government considers cannabis sales illegal, so these purchases are not allowed on our systems,” the spokesperson added.

Sunburn Cannabis CEO Brady Cobb said in a statement that “this move is another blow to the state-legal cannabis industry and patients/consumers who want to access this budding category.”

(Heh heh, he said “budding.”)

Interesting one- two punch this week.

First:

And between those this drops:

Who poses the greatest threat to democracy? Is it the movement that openly identifies with the symbols, goals and policies of fascist governments? Or is it the median bureaucrat at the Department of Health and Human Services?

Well that’s one way to commit money laundering out in the open

Additionally, the Andrew Tate comic is priced at $97 dollars. This isn’t for the entire series as it comes out, but rather, that’s the price for the very first issue. It’s safe to assume that future entries in the series will have a similar cost. It isn’t clear how long the comic is, with the site only describing the comic as “an all time collectible.”

I’m not enough of a political theorist to say this with confidence, but “liberal fascism” sounds like a non-thing, or something spouted by fascist propaganda mouthpieces. Am i wrong?

“there’s one important claim that has been rendered utterly wrong. I argued that, contrary to generations of left-wing fearmongering and slander about the right’s fascist tendencies, the modern American right was simply immune to the fascist temptation chiefly because it was too dogmatically committed to the Founders, to constitutionalism, and to classical liberalism generally. Almost 13 years to the day after publication, Donald Trump proved me wrong.”

Who is that guy in that picture?

I used part of my tax returns to buy the Complete Little Nemo. Still bit smaller then I would like but it’s absolutely beautiful and cheaper then that garbage.

It’s unfortunate that Peaches will be out long before Trump. As qualifications go, they are soulmates.
