I know, right? He really is the worst. I am a huge fan of The Beach Boys and I try really hard to look past Mike Love’s many, many transgressions and just concentrate on his musical contributions but shit like this just makes it so hard. He may get unfairly maligned some of the time, but on the other hand he just makes it so easy to hate him.
If he just came out and said, “we were paid good money to play at a private event, but we don’t endorse what the event stands for” that’s still icky, but whatever. But for his fan club president to start pushing conspiracy theories and saying how the people who are upset about this (including freaking Brian Wilson) are just being snowflakes, it just undermines him all the more.
